mmission has launched a public consultation on the Revision of the Detergents Regulation and the rules on labels for chemical products, as well as the ‘fitness check’ on the most relevant chemicals legislation.
This initiative will revise Regulation (EC) 648/2004 on detergents. This consultation aims to gather experiences and opinions from consumers and professional users of detergents, civil society organisations, industry, SMEs, national authorities and any other interested stakeholder, and to:
- reduce administrative burdens
- ensure more consistency with other relevant legislation
- adapt legislation on detergents to technical progress.
The consultation will run until 25 May 2022 and the revised “Detergents Regulation and the rules on labels for chemical products” is planned for adoption in Q4 of 2022.
